Stats Show Professionals Want to Be Seen as a Leader

Would you rather make hundreds of cold calls for the chance of getting one sale or would you rather be seen as a leader and authority in your industry so the calls come into you?

Obviously, the second option is what most all would choose, so the results of a recent survey I conducted should come as no surprise.  The part that is still surprising is that many business owners and sales professionals still go about trying to increase sales in the opposite manner.

In the past, I have been guilty of guessing what my clients and prospects are interested in and thus trying to sell that to them.  With our current interesting economic times, I’ve had a number of questions about what we offer, and many of the questions have been related to how professionals could increase sales or grow their business for the least investment.

Since I was getting so many questions and we offer a variety of services, I figured I would ask what professionals really wanted to know.

When asked, “Which are you most interested in learning about to increase sales and grow your business?,” out of 11 possible options, the top 3 responses were:

1.    How to be seen as a leader and authority in my industry
2.    How to increase traffic to my website
3.    How to use social media to promote my business
