Day 3 – Putting it all Together

I hope by this point you are feeling inspired and starting to figure out your purpose and passion in life.

Today is an incredibly special day because this e-mail shows you how to bring it all together…

Putting it all Together… Purpose, Passion and Profit

Congratulations!  Do you feel inspired from your sense of purpose?  People are always looking to find their passion and discover what drives them in life.  Looking ahead in your business life, when you can make your true passions come alive into a profession that supports your dreams, your family and your goals, then you are certainly doing something right.

Jim Collins describes this idea in his book, Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t.

He concludes that for a business to be truly great, the company must find the point where three circles intertwine.  These three circles are:

1) The area where you are gifted, where you can be the best in the world (Purpose),

2) Where you have the burning desire to make it happen (Passion),

3) and it makes economic sense (Profit).

We could not agree with this concept more, and we also see how it relates to the individual in creating their ideal career.  You have now taken all the steps to be able to define this, so let’s record it.

Take the time now to record your “purpose, passion and profit.”  Be creative.  You may not have the exact answer now.  You may not even know that the perfect job or business for you exists.  Just write about the things that feel right.  They don’t have to be exact positions.  Maybe you just want to describe the type of work you will eventually want to do, the people you want to work with, the results you want to have from the work.  Let your mind wander.  Have fun and come up with some great ideas.  Knowing this will help lead you to the ability to select the ideal career.  Only you can answer this question for yourself so take the time to do it now.  Then, we’ll get into targeting careers in the next Excursion, but before moving on, write down your thoughts and enjoy the process…

“Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point.”

~Harold B. Melchart

This is such a powerful lesson.  This is the only one for today.

Live the Life you have always imagined,
