Voice to text, e-mail and to do list – Productivity Tool

voice to textDo you ever have an idea while you are driving or think of something that needs to be done and you want a way to record it and share it with others?

For those of you who loved the Jott voice to text service, and still want a free service, Dial2Do could be your answer.

Dial2Do, an Irish company, allows you to call their number from your phone and speak your message.  It transcribes the message allowing you to send an e-mail, text or a host of other options.  It has country specific phone numbers so if long distance is included in your phone plan, calls are free.

My favorite use is calling in items for our project to-do list and sharing them with the team.  We use Remember the Milk, an online tool for organizing and sharing to do lists.

With Dial2Do, I call the number, and speak the task.  It adds the task and shows up as text in our Remember the Milk inbox.  The appropriate person takes care of the task and updates the status for the group.

So, when I think of an idea or task on the road, not only am I able to remember the item that needs to be completed, using these tools, the task is transferred into text form, added to our shared to do list and completed by a team member… all while I was driving down the highway.

We have no affiliation with either product and receive no compensation for mentioning them.  We just think they are pretty cool so wanted to share in case they work for you too.
