When Passion Makes Perfect
In these interesting economic times, many of us have been affected by the global financial situation. Some are searching for employment, others are hanging on to their jobs, some are in school preparing for the market turnaround, and others are thriving, perhaps even starting new businesses.
Wherever you may be in your life, people are always looking for what drives them in their careers while keeping a balance between work and family life. When you can make your true passions come alive into a profession that supports your family, you are certainly doing something right.
Jim Collins describes this idea in his book, Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap… and Others Don’t. He concludes that for a business to be truly great, the company must find the point where three circles intertwine. The three circles being:
1) The area where you are gifted, where you can be the best in the world (Purpose),
2) Where you have the burning desire to make it happen (Passion),
3) and it makes economic sense (Profit).
We could not agree with this concept more, and we also see how it relates to the individual in creating their ideal career.
…and for me, this entity may be the closest I have come to finding this combination in my life. While this Path Insight website and blog are relatively new, it’s actually been eight years in the making. With many life lessons, inspiring events, doors that opened and little reminders that kept happening which never let me forget this concept, it has become a reality eight years after the initial vision.
There is much more to come on this story and many more aspects of this site to be added, but it will be a fun journey and I look forward to sharing it together.
